Yes that’s right Mario, the little Italian plumber, is back…again! And this time he is coming at you in fantastic 3D.
This latest entry in one of Nintendo’s oldest franchises is set for release in on the 3DS this November, proving that for some unknown reason, Mario continues to be a big draw for video game fans on every platform his creators have in their arsenal. It’s a bit difficult to say why, maybe because he reminds us of our childhood, but right now Nintendo are hoping he’ll win us over once again.
There has been plenty of speculation about the future of the 3DS and whether the console needs to be saved. It certainly looks as if it might be struggling, so only time will tell if Mario has the materials to step in and come to its rescue.
It looks as if this new game will combine the familiar platforming gameplay of Super Mario Brothers with the more fantastical point of view worlds of titles like Super Mario galaxy. Of course, bringing all this together in glorious 3D will give the whole thing a breath of fresh air.
Like Ocarina of Time the step to 3D looks fantastic, it really does bring the characters to life. But can Mario really wow us yet again? Fans are split between whether they think it will be a throwback to the glory days of Mario or if it’s not going to change things too much… but what do you think?
